It's Friday and It's August

It's Friday and usually people love Friday because tomorrow is Saturday and the day after tomorrow is Sunday but then when Monday is coming.. :( office and class and whatsoever for everyone. Friday, I think I better spend the whole evening and night at home, facing the laptop updating the blog and hoping from blog to blog and commenting if necessary.

It's August, we'll celebrate the Independence Day. I was thinking today - after read part and partial of the book called "Memoir Ahmad Boestamam: Merdeka dengan Darah dalam API" - how much the spirit of patriotism and nationalism in youth today compare to this great individual named Ahmad Boestamam. He was jailed when he was 21 not because he was a criminal but he became the political prisoner.

He was one of three persons who started the political party in 1940s called Angkatan Pemuda Insaf (API). He was too young when he started this political party and he kept fighting for the independence. The question is how about the youth today. Do they have what Ahmad Boestamam used to have? A very huge spirit of patriotism and nationalism and the encouragement to contribute something to the country.

Our life is just not about ourselves only. The religion, the country, need us - the youth, the youngster who can be the leaders of the future. Our leadership today will not be lasting forever - when the time comes, their positions who be vacant and that time who will fill those positions if our youths are not ready physically, mentally and emotional to lead the country to the right path.
