Everything Just Went Wrong As Carling Cup Is Gone

First thing first, the line up itself didn't reflect the intention of winning the match. Second thing, it was seriously poor performance. This is my criticism - because the line up against West Ham in quarter final of Carling did not play as the line up during the big win over Blackburn Rovers.

It is true that Hernandez should play his role as a striker but then the mid section didn't function well as they not able to create goal scoring opportunities for Hernandez and Bebe who later was substituted by Macheda. Anderson, Fletcher, Obertan and Giggs in the mid section. As I watch the match until the 70th minute, for mid section, Fletcher played very worse.

Evans and Fabio failed as defenders in this match. Evans made a few mistakes which gave open space to West Ham to put the ball in the net. Everything went wrong with this line up. I think Alex Ferguson wanted to give a chance for these young men to show their talent and to prove themselves better than the United's old timers.

But these young men had disappointed Sir Alex with 0-4 lost to West Ham. They failed to take the chance to show how good they. They wasted the opportunity. It is not an issue of losing the match. It is the issue of how they not used they chance to play well and to prove themselves as good quality football players.

So, now Sir Alex and his men must focus on other cup - Premier League, FA Cup and Champion League. Community Shield alone is not sufficient. At least one more silverware must be kept in Old Trafford.

FT Verdict ::
1. Fletcher must improve himself as midfielder.

2. Evans and Fabio - if they keep playing like that, so they should forget to be selected in first eleven in Premier League matches.

3. Bebe does not seem to have a quality of striker. He has a lot more to do.
