Remember this, that the Customs Department have never appointed any person to collect taxes on behalf of the department. The Director-General of Customs Department Datuk Khazali Ahmad informed that some 240 complaints involving con men who posed as Customs representatives were lodged with the department last year.
There was one case in which the woman was cheated of RM353,000.00.
Thus, to the fellow members of public, please be aware of this situasi. Never give your money to any person who claims to be the representative of the Customs Department. If you're in such situation, please immediately call the Customs Department telephone number at 03-7806 7200 for the verification of the identity(ies) of the person(s).
