Sports: Man Utd Tour 2012 | Ajax Cape Town

At the first glance, everyone will know this club must have something to do with Ajax Amsterdam. It is indeed true. Ajax Cape Town is Football Development Academy in South Africa and the club is the merger of two club situated in Cape Town - Seven Stars Football Club and Cape Town Spurs Football Club.

It began when the transfer of Benni McCarthy was concluded for Seven Stars to Ajax Amsterdam.

During the transfer talks the board of Ajax Amsterdam indicated that they would like to establish a Football Development Academy in South Africa where they could source and develop players with the possibility of finding another "Benni McCarthy".

Same jersey color, same emblem (except the world Amsterdam is replaced with Cape Town for sure), I believe this club will be having fun to play against Machester United in United's second match of 2012 Tour. The first match was against AmaZulu F.C.

The match will be on 21st July 2012 (today) held at Cape Town Stadium at 1500hrs South Africa time. Akax Cape Town is second South African club to play United in this 2012 Tour after AmaZulu F.C played United last 18 July 2012.
