If you're Xperia Sola users and if your Xperia Sola is still running with Gingerbread, then it is time to upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The upgrade is easy and it may take you the most of 40 minutes.

1. First thing first, make sure you have the Internet connection.
2. Kindly open the following Sony Webpage: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/
3. The select your phone by clicking the picture of the phone. In this case the Xperia Sola model.
4. After the page for the phone appears. Scroll a little bit down and you will find the button "Check for updates" and click the button.
5. A pop-up will come out and at this stage you need Java to be running on your computer.
6. You will be told to connect your Xperia to the computer using a USB cable.
7. But you may want to take out the extended memory card from your phone. Switch of your phone before removing the memory card.
8. After your Xperia has been connected, now you can proceed with the update. Wait until it complete - the progress will be shown on your computer screen. After the progress complete on the computer. The update will be going on in your Xperia. You Xperia may restart automatically to complete the upgrading process. Wait until everything is complete.

I upgraded my sola when it first release months ago, you missing one the best feature of the update, which is glove mode.
ReplyDeleteBut, Sola, not that compatible with ICS, it more laggy than before, most probably amount of RAM stock with Sola.
Had to let go my Sola after update, so can't explore much.
that's right. one obvious problem you will counter after upgrading to ICS is the phone becomes a lil bit laggy compared to when it runs on Gingerbread.
