Climbing a staircase can be tiring (in actual fact it is one of good exercises) especially if you are at the shopping mall. Hence they have escalator to make people's lives easier. Under normal circumstances, escalator connects two floors which have substantive distance between them. In other word, you don't need escalator if distance between two floors are very close.

It is a 5 steps escalator with a modest rise of 32.8 inches equivalent to only 83.4cm. Guinnesss Book of Records recognises it as the shortes escalator in the world.

The lesson: You don't need to spend thousands to break the world's record.
