Opposition Is Necessary

Pas President is talking about the unity government, however he is making unclear statement about what kind of unity government he means. Is it with UMNO only or together with Barisan Nasional as a whole. Former Prime Minister urges Pas to make it clear what is the unity government it wants. If Pas still doubtful about the unity government it want, nothing can be worked out.

According to Tun M, the country needs the opposition because without it, the process of check balance might fail. The existence of opposition is important, so there will be a group of people to do a check and balance. Tun M also mentioned, the government without opposition is dangerous because the government might abuse the power.

However, I personally see, the opposition is only important if they are good opposition. Only if they are have maturity and not only attacking a person personally and talk about bad thing of that person. Good opposition should reveal the weaknesses of the government policies and give the idea on how to overcome those weaknesses.

The opposition who crazy for the power and position just to fulfill the self-interest is not good opposition. Good opposition is they don't care if they not become the ministers or not become the Menteri Besar, as long as they can voice up in the Parliament or State Assembly and wisely critique the government's policies, they will satisfy.

So, in the simple word, the opposition is only necessary if they are mature, wise, intelligent and no crazy for the power and position as minister or government. They want to voice up and wisely critique and give idea to help government to improve the policies and administration.
