I read all the court cases in English. Three years had passed and I can count with my finger how many cases that I read written in Bahasa Melayu. How could the judgment delivered by court in English be invalid? I agree with the apex court for the dismissal of such application. Won't be going detail.

PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court Wednesday dismissed a preliminary point raised by Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that court judgments written in the English language are invalid.
The court ruled that judges have the discretion to deliver judgments in English.
The apex court was chaired by Chief Judge of Malaya Justice Arifin Zakaria. With him in the panel were Federal Court judge Justice James Foong and Court of Appeal judge Justice Suriyadi Halim Omar.
The court ordered costs of RM70,000 for litigation.

ReplyDeletebiasanya kalau tertuduh tu Melayu, biasanya Mahkamah akan guna Bahasa Melayu semasa membacakan penghakiman melainkan. tetapi tidak ada masalah menggunakan bahasa Inggeris dalam keadaan tertuduh faham bahasa tersebut.
