Parliament's Extensive Repair

It should be done long time ago. I am wondering why it took so long before this "extensive repair" could be carried out. Parliament should be given constant "treatment" because this is place where the nation's matter is being dealt.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Parliament building will have to undergo extensive renovations to correct structural defects that have affected the building over the last five decades.

Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said “piecemeal renovations” were not enough to resolve recurring problems such as leaks during downpours.

“The time has come for the Parliament building to undergo the most serious medical check-up,” he told reporters on the roof of the building here yesterday.

. . . As for the Dewan Rakyat MPs’ lounge, he said the JKR would come up with an interim solution so that the area could be re-opened as soon as possible.

But now at least, the "extensive repairs" is finally about to be done. Constant treatment must be observed after this "extensive repairs".

p/s: Sometimes I'm thinking of being "in" the Parliament on day in the future.
