Tenang By-Election Result: Azahar Defeating Normala

Tenang by-election is over and the next one will be Merlimau if I'm not mistaken. BN won Tenang by-election with increasing majority. Of course it is a good sign for the winning side but bad sign for the losing party.

Whoever is winning, the vital thing is, a person who is given with that huge responsibility, must work hard and fulfill the mandate given by people.

Barisan Nasional has won the Tenang state by-election with a bigger majority despite the havoc caused by incessant rain and floods in many parts of the constituency.

Barisan candidate Mohd Azahar Ibrahim trounced PAS’ Normala Sudirman with a majority of 3,707 votes, a marked improvement from the 2,492-vote majority managed by the late Datuk Sulaiman Taha in the 2008 general election.

There were already few by-elections but bear in mind by-election does not reflect of what one party will achieve in the next general election. I'll be neutral in this entry and both BN and PR have their own chance. But the issue is how hard they can work and how honest they are.

Getting power for the sake your oneself only, you will be going nowhere. In democratic country, people give your power and mandate. People will take it and give it to another person if you fail to discharge your duty and obligation.

Being a leader not the ABC stuff. The reduction of voters may be because of the flood but the reduction was just small in  number.

The rising flood waters, however, did not have a great impact on the voter turnout, with 67% of the 14,753 voters braving the elements in lorries and boats to cast their ballots. The voter turnout for 2008 was 73%.
