Football and Politics | How Both Relate?

As-Salam and good day.

I must say, honestly, that I was and am still impressed when I read this one article which is written by Putik Lada. The author's approaches of comparing football and politics to deliver the message of "art of war" is just brilliant - "Art of war, football and politics".

I cannot agree more when the author wrote:

In this battle, there can only be one victor. This is football, and football means war.

Indeed football is war. Despite it is played at the lowest level of societies, it is indeed war. And the fans and supporters take this war seriously. Beside jersey, paint on body and face as Putik Lada put it, the fanaticism includes car stickers, posters on the wall of bedroom, headgear, Facebook fan pages and following players' Twitter accounts. Or wallpaper of your favorite football team in your new Samsung Galaxy SIII or your new Iphone 5.

Later on it comes to politics, the author expressed the feelings how Malaysian politics at some point are just bad as the author wrote:

Malaysian politics are filled with such melodrama too. Much of parliamentary and state assembly time is wasted on personal attacks, and conspiracy theories about secret Israeli links....

Furthermore the author continued:

There’s always the good, the bad and the ugly. Manchester City’s recruitment policy of paying exorbitant transfer fees and wages is bad. Equally bad is the tendency of Malaysian politicians and voters to be tempted by money.

The serial dressing room bust-ups in the French and Dutch national teams are ugly. Equally ugly is the internal squabbling and power struggles within Malaysian political parties.

And I believe we realise these are as true as the author said it.

At the end the author still believes there is space of changes and no one should deny this as the author ended as follow:

The revolution in European football and politics bears testament to how it is possible for people to change old perspectives and embrace new philosophies in life, for the better.

As the German sports brand Adidas puts it: “Impossible is nothing”.
