Today I just found out about Sepia Saturday and the idea/concept is pretty cool. Though I don't have my own original old photos to be posted here, I would like to be part of Sepia Saturday for the first time. For this first time, I posted here an image I got from Google search, for next Sepia Saturday, I'll try get my own one. I said I try because I am not sure whether I will be able to get the old photos from my parents' time when they were kids.
The beach during old time |
Sepia SaturdayPeople actually used to put the full clothes when they were going to beaches. Those old time has changed. And people change. And everything changes. But do we live in the "better" world?
Launched by Alan Burnett and Kat Mortensen in 2009, Sepia Saturday provides bloggers with an opportunity to share their history through the medium of photographs. Historical photographs of any age or kind (they don't have to be sepia) become the launchpad for explorations of family history, local history and social history in fact or fiction, poetry or prose, words or further images. If you want to play along, all we ask is that your sign up to the weekly Linky List, that you try to visit as many of the other participants as possible, and that you have fun.

Not that I'd want to go back to wearing long sleeves and long skirts to the beach or elsewhere in the summer, for that matter, but I do kind of wish the fashion of parasols would come back into style. There's something to be said about being able to carry your own shade around with you. :))
ReplyDeleteYes Nightingail, things changed and people won't go to the beach with long sleeves and long shirts anymore. But I like your idea of parasols. I used to watch in American old movies and it seems bringing parasol was a fashion trend back in those days. And it looks cool.
DeleteAlthough I do like to see people dressed so very stylishly, there comes a point when it just looks too uncomfortable - like on a beach!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Violet and I don't think there is necessity to be very stylish where the time and place is inappropriate.
DeleteWelcome to sepia saturday. A lovely photo and yes, times have certainly changed.
