First Match Motivation

This is a late report of United v Newcastle as United defeated the opponent 3-0 at the very home of Old Trafford.Berbatov became the first to score for this new season EPL, followed by wise turn & touch by Fletcher and by the left-feet super short by the oldies Giggs.

However Scholes was the one who stole the match with his beautiful through pass to Berbatov followed by his perfect cross to Giggs. However, on the other hand, there is a worry with regard Rooney's performance as he still didn't score any goal since he last goal agaist Bayern.
In my previous post, I'd told about the readers selection of the first eleven as according to manutd.com. And Sir Alex's selection was almost the same. The responsiblity to keep the goal protected still belong to Van der Sar.

Vidic and Evan at the centre back. Evra at his ordinary position, but instead having Rafael, Sir Alex let O'Shea to play his role. Rafael, however, came to the pitch replacing Evra. The good thing was they are the good combination of defenders helping Van der Sar kept the goal clean.

At the mid, Sir Alex went as selection by the manutd.com's readers. we got Valencia, Fletcher who scored one goal, the man-of-the-match Paul Scholes and Nani. I could say all them did a good job for this very first game. Nani later was replaced by Giggs who gave third goal for United.

At the attacking position, instead Rooney and Chicarito as selected by the readers, Sir Alex went for Rooney and Berbatov. That was not non-profitable strategy as Berbatov opened the winning door for United againts Newcastle. Chicharito came into the picture later as a sub for Berbatov.

So everything is good. Glory Glory Man United!

  1. I trust Van Der Sar.

I like the athletic Fletcher. He can defence and help with the striking.

(Why there is full stop? Because it is confidence statement by me :)
