AFF Suzuki Cup: National Team Steps To Semi Final

After lost 1-5 in the first match to Indonesia and ended the second match 0-0 against Thailand, finally our national team did something meaningful in the third match by defeating Laos 5-1 to qualify to the semi final of AFF Suzuki Cup.

Basically we can see the change of performance by our national team but semi-final will not gonna be easy. They must improve their performance in semi final, keep the focus and motivation at the highest level. We want see more than just semi final.

But then it is also a little bit luck for national team as Thailand lost to Indonesia. Thanks to 2 goals by Bambang Pamungkas from the penalty spot. If Thailand won, then we are out. So Malaysia must use this opportunity of stepping to semi-final by proving that we still have a quality football.

Palembang: Two goals from Amri Yahyah sent Malaysia on their way to a 5-1 win over Laos in their final Group A clash on Tuesday evening, with the victory securing K. Rajagopal's team a place in the semi-finals of the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup.

The win marked a dramatic turnaround for a Malaysian team that lost their opening game of the tournament against group hosts Indonesia before drawing with Thailand three days later.

Victory over Laos coupled with Thailand's loss at the hands of Indonesia in Jakarta means Malaysia's total of four points is enough to take them into the last four, where they will meet the winners of Group B.

If Malaysia can win the AFF Suzuki Cup, that even better!

  2. Laos is a fine team but defensively they are very poor. I'm surprise that Thailand failed to beat them. I wonder if this means Robson is not a good manager?
