Will The Huge Spend Worth?

In August, the huge event I really can't wait - the beginning of the new season of Barclay's Premier League. There are a lot of things occurred during the pre-season from the Asia Tour by Manchester United to the big spend by Mark Hughes to fulfill his dressing room with a lot of egos. Recently Hughes insists to get Chelsea's Captain, John Terry and make an offer of salary of RM5million per month for Terry.

Hughes seems quite confident that he will be able to manage of big names in his team after spend almost £80m to sign Carlos Tevez, Emannuel Adebayor, Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz.

"It doesn't faze me at all," he said. "I understand it's a big responsibility and it's up to me to make sure we blend the team in the right manner and we get a winning team. Everybody has a view on how you deal with big players and big world stars, the likes of Carlos Tevez.

"But from dealing with top players the reason they are top players is because they have certain qualities and certain attributes and blend themselves to being top professionals. From my experience the top, top players are easier to handle so there's no apprehension about it.

"I just view it as an outstanding opportunity for myself and my football club.''

However the question is, is it worth to spend such amount to get those big names and expecting the "greatest chemistry" in a very short period. For this coming season, I personally believe, Manchester City still can't perform well in the league. The chemistry between players is not easy to establish. You must play for few season make yourself comfortable with new team, new team mates and new environment.

In other perspectives, the same thing will happen to City as what used to happen to Real when Real kept so many big names in the team and Real still didn't perform and the same thing might occurred to Real again after it the signing of Ronaldo, Kaka, and Benzema.

New season is coming, and for Manchester United, the first game will be with Birmingham.
